Blog Post #15: C.R.A.A.P. Analysis
I liked this website that evaluates my topic, and the effects on mental health/strain it can have on students attending. The website very carefully highlights the extreme cost of out-of -state tuition compared to in-state tuition, and how it can be very stressful for students who have their heart and mind set on that specific university. This blog talks specifically about the students at UNC, but I think that it could go for really any college. The writer talks about how “students with higher financial stress are at risk for a number of negative outcomes” and I can agree that the stress from being out of state can be a hefty load to carry when the whole point in getting a degree is becoming financially stable in life. I think this source passes the C.R.A.A.P. test because it fits every category that is needed and highlights very important information:
C: The time this article was posted was March 24, 2022
R: This information is very important and highlights a lot of useful information I need for my topic
A: The source of the information in this article comes from the University of North Carolina, and an author named Sriya
A: The accuracy in this source seems pretty accurate, as it comes from the firsthand experience of students and personal opinions.
P: The purpose of this article is to show the mental toll that tuition can have on students, especially when it is doubled when you come from out of state; and it might even be written to persuade some schools to lower their tuition all together.
