Ava Anderson - Unit 2 Reflection
Unit 2 Reflection
During this project, I felt like writing this analysis of a TED Talk came easy to me, because I feel like I can be intellectually opinionated scholastically; especially when it comes to writing about something I am interested in. I liked how our TED talks were correlated to things we enjoy writing about, as mine had a sort of criminal justice feel to it, which is my major. I do think that if I had more time I could try to go more in depth on some of the ethos, pathos, and logos sections; but overall I felt pretty proud of my work. I can’t say that I’ve knowingly written a rhetorical analysis before, isthis was very interesting for me to write but somehow familiar. I think I made a good commitment to this writing, as I spent numerous hours writing it and trying to make it as good as I could with the amount of time that I had. Parts of class that helped with this paper were when we were doing peer reviews, and I think that hearing what my classmates had to say about my writing really helped me see it from a different perspective, to which I was then able to make changes that fit the material better. I do feel better about knowing my capabilities for when I have to write another rhetorical analysis in the future, and this is because I think the flow of the whole project came pretty easy, and the feedback really helped from my teacher and classmates, which pushed me to work harder and do better in some areas where the essay might’ve been lacking. Overall, I had a fun time doing this project, and writing it was not too difficult or too much of a chore because I did learn from the TED talk and got a better feel on the topic of “false memories”.
