                         The Cost of a Degree

What I all know about the topic of out - of - state tuition is that it’s much more expensive than any in - state tuition costs. I think it is kind of a tragedy that college can cost so much for people who want to leave their home state or pursue their dreams of going to a certain college farther away from home. However, scholarship wise, this can come in handy when students are thinking about applying themselves more academically and athletically using high school in order to receive scholarships, but sometimes those scholarships don’t cover more than a fraction of the cost it is to leave your home state. Coming from someone who didn't know what they wanted to do with their future academically until pretty much a year ago, I think that it can also be pretty tough when deciding which scholarships you want to apply for and make yourself for the categories of. I did not know a year ago where I wanted to go to college 100%, but if I would've had a stronger inkling that I’d be going to Ole Miss, I would have researched more scholarships and reached out to people just to see what opportunities are available. I think that the cost of tuition can be pretty hard no matter what the number is, but going out of state takes years and years to pay for, and that can be a huge toll on somebody’s life. I think that the pricing of college should go down overall, because the only way to survive nowadays is to have and make money; but it seems impossible to do when all of your money from now and years into the future goes into something that years ago was not as expensive. College has become a luxury, and seemingly “the only way” to get a job in the future because it looks good on a resume. I think that this is a problem because I know so many people who cannot afford the opportunity to go to college who are way smarter than I am, and for them to not get their chance to prove themselves as much as I do is one of the more unfortunate things in life.
